- I can't do this anymore, Steve. I'm not gonna make it. I want you to promise me one thing, nng. Gyaah! Take Loki out, and sock him one for me. You'll do good, Steve.
History[]
Arc Reactor[]
After Tony Stark heard that AIM, his rival company, had begun work on a clean energy source for the city, he began working on one of his own, but he was thinking of something much more radical. He planned on turning his entire building into a source of clean energy for the whole country. Once he revealed his plans, he stole all of the attention from AIM, which caused them to kidnap him until their energy source would be complete, and they forced him to build it.
Escape from AIM[]
Eventually, Tony managed to bribe an AIM employee named Donnie Gill into helping him escape. Tony used one of AIM's pre-manufactured armor suits and he powered it with their own energy source. At first, AIM was befuddled as to who the man in the armor was, but before he left, he made sure that they knew it was him. After he escaped and made his return to the public, he revealed what AIM did to him, which forced the government to shut them down, but Tony couldn't help but wonder what had happened to Donnie Gill.
Stark Armor Line[]
During his stay in AIM's base, Tony became intrigued by the armors they had built, so he began building his own line of armors, which, of course, were improved in every way possible. At first, he intended to sell them to the government, which he began to do at first, but he eventually decided to keep his most recent model, the one he had titled "The Golden Man", but he later changed the name to "The Iron Man", due to the metal the armor was manufactured from. When he was asked why he wished it keep it, he responded "In case I ever need it."
Iron Man[]
Trivia[]
- Tony only ever used two armors in his time as Iron Man, the armor in the AIM headquarters, and the first armor he made for himself, though he planned to eventually activate his third armor, but he never got the chance.
