Arcadia was a barren planet that was terraformed by the Architect-turned-Alterant, Atum.

History[]

Creation[]

Millenia after Atum joined the Alterants in their efforts to change the universe in more intricate ways than the Architects could, he decided he wanted to create a planet he could call his own. Inspired by the tale of the Garden of Eden that developed in human culture, and the idea of Arcadia, the concept of harmony with nature, he began to terraform the planet. He spent the first few years figuring out how to properly structure plants, and then began to spread them across the landscapes. He then began to form the start of the civilisation that would be there. His knowledge of technology far surpassed what he knew of plants, and in days formed a giant city, which produced energy by using the wind and solar power, and allowed for plants to thrive throughout. He named the city Karlel, for reasons even he doesn't realise.

Following this, Atum began working on lifeforms. He brought his favourite animals from across the universe to his new world, and placed them in habitats that suited them. He witnessed the expansion of their species on his world, and introduced more species, this time to serve different purposes. Atum then moved onto trying to create the perfect species, modelled on him. However, he found the creation of a more complex being much more difficult, due to all the small intricacies in the anatomy required. Around a hundred years were spent attempting to create this species, but he could never quite perfect it. He came incredibly close, managing to develop a number of different organs and structures, but always falling just short and failing.
