Atla-El is a genetic experiment created by Jor-El several years before he had a legitimate son, Kal-El.

History[]

Creation[]

Jor-El, wanting a son who he could call his own, gained the approval of the government to create a being based on his DNA. Over the next few months he used his DNA to grow a brig, using cellular stimulation to artificially age him to adulthood. He named it Atla-El, for no other reason than he felt it fit. The scientifically created son would become close to Jor-El, and idolized by the Kryptonian people.

A Brother[]

Three and a half years after Atla-El's 'birth', Jor-El and Lara-El had a so together. Atla-El took the opportunity to say goodbye to his creator and joined the Kryptonian military, due to his enhanced abilities. He became lieutenant to Zor-El, the General and Chief Scientist of the military. He proved himself to be a valuable asset when the deranged Dru-Zod attacked the government. The self-proclaimed General Zod attempted to destroy the military, unaware that nearly all of the Kryptonian population was happy with the current way of life and didn't want change. Atla-El was sent in to capture Zod, and the two had a massive brawl that ended with Atla-El being commanded to retreat.

Mere weeks later, Jor-El begged Atla-El to travel with his 'brother', Kal-El, into space, as Jor-El had come to the discovery that Krypton's power stations would destroy the planet in the near future. Atla-El agreed, and was launched in a shuttle, which had a smaller shuttle with the baby Kal-El inside. However, after the shuttle had travelled past the solar system, space debris damaged the shuttle, and Kal-El's pod was jettisoned from the shuttle. Atla-El flew after Kal-El, managing to keep the pod safe from damage. He spent weeks keeping it safe, but became caught in what appeared to be a black hole.

Phantom Zone[]

Atla-El woke up in the Phantom Zone, realising what he had thought to be a Black Hole was the site of an unstable portal into the Phantom Zone that allowed entry into the dimension, but not escape. He spent the next few months in the Phantom Zone, where he met a woman called Qar-Ran. The two lived in the Phantom Zone together, constantly fighting off the Phantom inhabitants, but eventually they found a way to escape. However, when they escaped, Qar-Ran discovered she had lost her powers. They journeyed to Earth, as that was where Kal-El had been sent.
