Dormammu is a powerful sorcerer from the Dark Dimension, intent on absorbing other realms into his own.
History[]
You will obey me! I am Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension, and Conqueror of Realms! I have plunged entire civilisations into the darkness that is my domain, and I will do the same to yours.
I am one with the Dark Dimension, killing me would break its barriers, and unleash my hordes across the realms. Defeat me, and there will be chaos. Alternatively, you can surrender, and allow me to conquer your precious Earth. 
The sorcerer Sinifer was one of the most notorious evils of the Faltine dimension, murdering thousands of other Faltine in order to absorb their magic into himself. The rest of the Faltine formed a great alliance in order to defeat Sinifer and save the rest of their lives. After a great war that ravaged the Faltine dimension, Sinifer was finally defeated by being injected with pure dark magic, which poisoned the rest of his magic and tore him apart.
As magic tends to do once disembodied, the mass of mixed light and dark magic began to pull together to form a new 'Source'. However, to avoid the magic being taken by somebody like Sinifer, the Faltine split it into two, and separated them, unaware that part of Sinifer's soul was tied to the magic. By traumatising the piece left behind, they triggered the now-two pieces of Sinifer's soul to heal, feeding off the magic sources, creating two new beings. One of these became a fiery being almost purely made of magic, who named himself 'Dormammu'.
Powers & Abilities[]
Magical Form: Dormamu's form is made almost entirely of magic, making his control over his magic much stronger than most other sorcerers.
- Reality Manipulation: He is able to manipulate reality itself, defying the laws of physics. Within the Dark Dimension he has has complete control over everything within it, and can change it with but a thought. But beyond the Dark Dimension his power is much more limited, and can only be used with intense concentration and through verbal spells.
- Immortality: As a being made almost entirely of magic, Dormammu is functionally immortal. Unless his soul is destroyed or removed from his body (which would then disperse).
- Mystic Bolts: He can draw energy from other dimensions, and release them from his body.
- Spells: Although within his own dimension, Dormammu can do as he pleases on a whim, in other dimensions he has to use spells.
- Splinter Form: Dormammu can create a separate body, also made of magic, that he uses as an ambassador for his true self. This 'Splinter Form' is drastically less powerful than Dormammu, but is still able to rival the likes of Baron Mordo and Doctor Strange.
- Astral Projection: Although he prefers to use his Splinter Form, Dormammu is able to travel the astral plane. He generally only uses it to contact people in places he is unable to enter in his True or Splinter forms.
