X-Men is the first installment of both the X-Men franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set to be released in 2015, and it will be directed by Bryan Singer.
Plot[]
The X-Men are teachers for mutants by day, and defenders of a world that hates them by night. Founded by Professor Xavier, they try to prove to the human race that mutants are not out to get them.
After arresting their dozenth or so evil mutant, an old friend turned foe of Xavier's arrives unexpectedly, and, with help from his mutant ability to control metal, helps the mutant convicts escape the X-Men's custody.
Xavier quickly enlists the X-Men to go get them back, sending out Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Kitty Pryde, Beast, Ice Man, and Angel.
Meanwhile, the free Evil Mutants, now calling themselves the Brotherhood, reek havoc across New York City until the X-Men show up. There is a huge battle all leading up to the final one with Magneto. They barely manage to apprehend him and take him back to the campus with the rest of the prisoners, and they lock him away in a non-metallic room far away from the school and the other prisoners.
An after credits scene appears of Xavier being wheeled by Cyclops to Cerebro which he has not used in years. He says that they barely won the last battle, and they'll need all the help they can find. The last shot is of Xavier's eye as it zooms in closer, you can see the reflection of the Cerebro wall where there is a hologram of a fist with claws.
